Tamer Levent — Biography

Tamer Levent (born 13 October 1950, İzmir) is a Turkish stage and film actor, director and writer. He entered the Theatre Department of the Ankara State Conservatory in 1971 and graduated in 1977, working first as an actor and later as a director at the State Theatres, where he went on to serve as general director and deputy general director.

Productions he staged were invited to festivals in Russia, Canada, South Korea, Iran and Northern Cyprus, and he was the founding chairman of the Union of Theatre Actors. On screen he became widely known for playing Garip in the series İstanbullu Gelin, and he has also appeared in historical dramas such as Diriliş: Ertuğrul and Fatih. In film, he took a leading role in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's Kış Uykusu (Winter Sleep).
