Prisoner of Love (Aşk Mahkumu) (translated)
Aşk Mahkumu is a 1973 Turkish drama directed by Nuri Ergün from a screenplay by Safa Önal. Orhan, the spoiled, womanizing heir of a rich household, sees his carefree life upended when Selma, a distant relative, takes refuge in the family home after her parents die in a car crash. The trauma has left her unable to speak, yet while living under the same roof she quietly falls for Orhan. When he fails to restrain himself and assaults her, the shock paradoxically restores her voice, and she flees the house. Only once she is gone does Orhan grasp both the injustice he committed and the depth of his feelings, prompting him to search for her and seek forgiveness. Kartal Tibet and Hale Soygazi star in the leading roles.
