Şefer Sözü (Şeref Sözü)
Şeref Sözü is a 1977 Turkish drama film directed by Osman Fahir Seden from a screenplay by Safa Önal. The story follows two brothers who lost their father at a young age and hold on to each other to survive life's hardships. The elder brother, Rıfat, is an amateur boxer and the pride of the neighborhood; after working to pay off his father's debts, he takes up work as a greengrocer following his father's death so that his younger brother can stay in school. Sedat, determined not to waste his brother's sacrifice, studies hard to finish university. Both brothers have sweethearts from their neighborhood, and Rıfat finally gets engaged after postponing marriage for years for his brother's sake. Not wanting to be a burden any longer, Sedat tries to earn money on his own and is drawn into shady dealings, eventually facing a painful choice between his poor girlfriend and a wealthy young woman. The film stars Tarık Akan and Perihan Savaş, with Beyk İmanverdi and Eşref Kolçak in supporting roles.
