Our Hodja (Bizum Hoca)

Bizum Hoca is a 2014 Turkish comedy film directed by Serkan Acar, with Cezmi Baskın and Levent Ülgen leading the cast.

The story unfolds in a village in Trabzon, in Turkey's Black Sea region. When the officially appointed imam never shows up to take his post, the villagers choose one of their own, a man known as 'Bizum Hoca', to fill in at the mosque. Around the same time, word gets out that a hydroelectric power plant is planned for the area. Determined to protect their land, the villagers rally against the project and put Bizum Hoca at the head of their resistance.

Just as things settle into place, the real imam finally arrives in the village, throwing everything into comic disarray. Blending Black Sea humor with a tale of community spirit and environmental protest, the film follows the villagers as they juggle an identity mix-up and a fight to save their valley.
