Brought by the Sea

Brought by the Sea (Turkish: Denizden Gelen) is a 2010 Turkish drama directed by Nesli Çölgeçen. Running about 107 minutes, it follows a former police officer who withdraws to his hometown, burdened by guilt, after unintentionally causing the death of an African migrant. Ahu Türkpençe, Sümer Tilmaç, and Onur Saylak lead the cast.

Released nationwide in Turkey on April 16, 2010, the film went on to screen at international festivals in Istanbul, Moscow, and Adana, where it received the Grand Jury's "Yılmaz Güney" Best Picture award.
