Turks in Space (Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam'ın Oğlu)
Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam'ın Oğlu (internationally released as Turks in Space) is a 2006 science-fiction action comedy directed by Kartal Tibet and written by Murat Boyacıoğlu, made as a sequel to Çetin İnanç's 1982 cult film Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam (often called "Turkish Star Wars"). Cüneyt Arkın, star of the original, reprises his role in a story set in the year 2055, in a comically fantastical universe where Turks have carved up outer space among themselves. The film opened in theaters on 15 December 2006.
The large cast includes Mehmet Ali Erbil, Ayşen Gruda, Burak Hakkı, Alp Kırşan, Didem Erol, Haldun Boysan, Hakan Vanlı, and Pascal Nouma. Despite using a scale of computer animation unprecedented in Turkish cinema at the time, the film was also listed by IMDb among the worst films of 2006.
