House of David

House of David is an American biblical historical drama series created by Jon Erwin with Jon Gunn for Amazon Prime Video. Drawing on the Books of Samuel, it follows the life of the Israelite King David around 1000 BC. The story begins when the shepherd boy David is anointed by the prophet Samuel as the future king, even as the reigning King Saul, undone by his own pride, begins his decline. After his celebrated victory over Goliath, David must survive love, violence and political intrigue inside Saul's court until the House of David ultimately supersedes the House of Saul. Michael Iskander stars as David, with Ali Suliman as Saul, alongside Stephen Lang, Ayelet Zurer, Indy Lewis, Ethan Kai and Martyn Ford. Produced by Erwin's Wonder Project together with Amazon MGM Studios and filmed in Greece in 2024, the series premiered on 27 February 2025 with three episodes, its first season running eight episodes. Its strong early viewership earned a renewal, and a second season began rolling out in October 2025.
