Farha

Farha is a 2021 historical drama written and directed by Jordanian filmmaker Darin J. Sallam. The story unfolds in 1948 during the Nakba, the mass uprooting of Palestinians, and follows a young village girl forced to grow up as violence closes in around her. Sallam drew the screenplay from a true account she heard in childhood about a girl called Radiyyeh.

The film had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on 14 September 2021 and began streaming on Netflix on 1 December 2022. Its portrayal of a Palestinian family's killing drew protests from right-wing Israeli politicians, and it is regarded as the first fiction feature about the Nakba released on Netflix. The ensemble includes Ashraf Barhom, Ali Süleyman and Karam Taher.
