Second Chance (İkinci Şans) (translated)

İkinci Şans (Second Chance) is a 2016 Turkish romantic drama directed by Özcan Deniz, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Avni Tuna Dilligil and took the leading role. The cast includes Nurgül Yeşilçay, Afra Saraçoğlu, Suğdem Gözalır, and Füsun Erbulak. The film opened in cinemas in November 2016.

The story brings together Yasemin, a beautiful mathematics teacher and mother who is healing from a mistaken marriage and weighs every step she takes, and Cemal, a charismatic gourmet who owns a steakhouse. Cemal is a sociable, carefree man eager to leave his own past behind. Although their first encounters are marked by quarrels, the relationship between these two opposite personalities gradually deepens into a melancholic love. As they explore each other's pasts, it becomes clear that both of them need a second chance in life.

A co-production of Avşar Film and DNZ Film, the production also reached audiences across the Middle East through channels affiliated with the MBC and OSN groups.
