A Madonna in Laleli (Laleli’de Bir Azize)

A Madonna in Laleli is a 1998 Turkish crime drama and the directorial debut of Kudret Sabancı, who also wrote the script. Its unconventional dialogue drew notice on release, and the picture stands as one of the pioneering works of the "Yeni Sinemacılar" (New Filmmakers) movement that Sabancı belonged to. Production ran alongside Serdar Akar's On Board (Gemide), with lead characters from both films crossing paths at points.

The plot centers on a pimp and two associates who attempt to pass off a Russian woman as a virgin to sell to a wealthy businessman. The film opened nationwide across Türkiye on March 12, 1999.

The cast features Cengiz Küçükayvaz, Güven Kıraç, Yıldıray Şahinler, and Funda Şirinkal.
