Article 438 (Madde 438)

Madde 438 (Article 438) is a 1990 Turkish drama/thriller directed by Ümit Efekan, who co-wrote the screenplay with Erdoğan Tünaş. The 84-minute film dramatizes the public controversy sparked by a real case known as the 'N.T. Olayı,' centered on Article 438 of the Turkish Penal Code, a provision that reduced sentences for the rape of sex workers.

Gülşen Bubikoğlu leads the cast as Naciye Tuna, supported by Berhan Şimşek and Hakan Ural. The film was produced by Türker İnanoğlu's Erler Film with a score by Melih Kibar.
