Open Eyes

Open Eyes (original Arabic title عيون لا تنام — "Eyes That Never Sleep") is a 1981 Egyptian film directed by Raʼfat Elmihi. The screenplay is an adaptation of Desire Under the Elms, the stage play by American dramatist Eugene O'Neill.

Shot in Arabic, the film stars Ferit Şevki and Madiha Kamel. It stands as a literary adaptation that transposes O'Neill's drama of family conflict and forbidden passion into Egyptian cinema.
