Sleepless Night

Nuit blanche, released in English as Sleepless Night, follows Vincent, a corrupt cop with ties to the criminal underworld. When he and his partner are caught stealing a cocaine shipment from a powerful drug dealer, his double life is exposed, and the gang kidnaps his son in retaliation. To get the boy back, Vincent must bring the stolen cocaine to a nightclub in a rough Paris suburb, setting off a desperate, breathless night of chases and confrontation that plays out almost in real time.

Directed by Frédéric Jardin from a story he co-wrote with Nicolas Saada, this French-language action thriller is a co-production of France, Belgium and Luxembourg. It premiered at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival to positive critical notices. The cast includes Tomer Sisley, Adel Bencherif, Julien Boisselier, Serge Riaboukine and Turkish actor Birol Ünel, whose performance drew particular praise.
