The Strong Man
The Strong Man (original Persian title: اول هیکل, Avval Hekel) is a black-and-white Iranian film from 1960 (1339 in the Iranian calendar), directed and produced by Siamak Yasemi for Pouria Film. The screenplay was written by the celebrated poet and writer Ahmad Shamlou, who adapted it from the story of an Egyptian film at Yasemi's suggestion; at his own request, his name was left out of the credits. The Persian-language picture stars Nasir Malek and Taghi Zohouri, with Pouran also among the performers. It proved to be a major commercial success, ending its release year as the highest-grossing film in Iran.
