Yılmaz Meydaneri — Biography

Born on 3 September 1959 in Ankara, Yılmaz Meydaneri began his theatre training at the Ankara State Conservatory in 1977-1978 and completed it in 1985 at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory, now part of Istanbul University State Conservatory. Between 1980 and 1988 he appeared in more than twenty plays at various private theatres, joined the Istanbul City Theatre company for the 1988-89 season with the play Buzlar Çözülmeden, and has since taken roles in numerous stage productions, including some at the Ankara State Opera and Ballet. He made his film debut in 1979, playing a journalist in Korkusuz Korkak.

Alongside theatre, Meydaneri has built a wide-ranging career in television and film, best known for playing Hakkı Bafralı across all nine seasons of the series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, broadcast from 2007 to 2016. He has also appeared in series such as Şefkat Tepe, Nizama Adanmış Ruhlar, Kalbimin Sultanı, Nöbet, Payitaht Abdülhamid and Barbaros Hayreddin: Sultanın Fermanı, and in films including Ölümcül İçgüdü, Posta Kutusu and Direniş: Karatay, as well as working as a voice actor on several productions.
