Aydan Şener — Biography

Born Memnune Aydan Şener on 1 March 1963 in Kilis, she is of Tatar descent. After winning the Miss Turkey title in 1981 and going on to represent the country at that year's Miss World pageant, she used the exposure to launch a brief modeling career before moving into acting.

She made her screen debut in the 1983 series Küçük Ağa and went on to appear in more than forty television dramas and films over the following three decades, becoming widely recognized for playing Feride in the 1986 adaptation of Çalıkuşu. Later credits such as Fatih-Harbiye, Zühre, Gölge Çiçeği and Kalbimdeki Deniz cemented her status as one of the era's sought-after performers.

Şener has often recalled being among the first Turkish actresses to request a trailer on set, an anecdote from her Yeşilçam days. She lost her father in November 2025 and closed out the year with a new stage play, Ne Olacak Şimdi, remaining a familiar public figure into her sixties.
