Janset — Biography

Born into a Circassian family, Janset (real name Janset Paçal) began her career in 1990 as an animator at the Antalya Çizgi Tiyatrosu, moved into modelling in 1992, and settled in Istanbul in 1994, joining the Gaye Sökmen Agency. She became known through the atv show Televizyon Çocuğu, which she co-hosted with Okan Bayülgen from 1996, but her breakthrough came with the series Ayrılsak da Beraberiz (1999-2002), in which she starred as Berna.

Through the 2000s she appeared in the series Yarım Elma, Patron Kim and Çocuklar Duymasın, and in the films Neredesin Firuze (2004), Banyo (2005), Kısık Ateşte 15 Dakika (2006), Kahve Bahane (2009), Romantik Komedi (2010), Ya Sonra (2011) and Hayat Öpücüğü (2015), also working as a television host. She went on to appear in Köstebekgiller 2 (2015), the series 7 Yüz (2017) and Adresi Olmayan Ev (2024), and on stage in the play TOMRİS (2021, 2023).

A founding member of Turkey's Actors' Union in 2011, Janset has since held several terms on its BİROY board and supervisory committee, and has volunteered in autism-awareness campaigns.
