Meral Perin — Biography

Born in 1965, Meral Perin is a German actress of Turkish descent, sometimes credited as Meral Yüzgüleç. Her career began in the early 1990s in German television, including a role in an episode of Ein Fall für Zwei and an appearance in the procedural series SOKO Köln. She reached wider recognition in 2006 playing Frau Akinici in an episode of Tatort. She appeared alongside Serbian actor Predrag 'Miki' Manojlović in director Veit Helmer's Vom Lokführer, der die Liebe suchte.... Perin has also regularly worked in Turkish-German co-productions, following Evet, ich will! and Ayrılık with roles in director Mehmet Ateşçi's Deli Kazım (2022) and Nur eine Frau. The 2023 film Her Şeye Rağmen premiered in Adana, and that same year she joined the cast of the series Hotel Mondial. In 2025 she played the character Yadigar in the Netflix film She Said Maybe, released in Turkey as Evet, Hayır, Belki. Active for more than three decades, she continues to work as an experienced actress in both German and Turkish productions, often playing characters that bridge the two cultures.
