Birdman (Kuşçu) (translated)

Movie · 1973 · 2 people

Kuşçu is a 1973 Turkish drama film directed and written by Vural Pakel, starring Cüneyt Arkın and Perihan Savaş. Murat guns down, in the courtroom itself, the gang members who murdered his wife and one of his sons, and is sent to prison with his infant son Bora in his arms. After escaping from jail years later, he accepts a job offer from Tahir so that his boy can grow up in better conditions: he is to kidnap Tahir's cousin Pınar, the heir to a large fortune, right from her wedding. Tahir's real intention, however, is to have Pınar killed and seize her inheritance. Once Murat hears the young woman tell her own story, he is torn between handing her over and saving her, and the journey back changes everything. Meanwhile Bora, who resents his father for the rootless life he has been forced into, adds another layer to this tale of revenge and redemption.
