The Bus Passengers (Otobüs Yolcuları)

Otobüs Yolcuları ("The Bus Passengers") is a 1961 Turkish film directed by Ertem Göreç from a screenplay by Vedat Türkali. Part of Yeşilçam's socially realist current, it is framed as a political drama.

Ayhan Işık and Türkân Şoray lead the cast, alongside Senih Orkan, Atıf Kaptan, Reha Yurdakul, Avni Dilligil, and Suphi Kaner, with music by Yalçın Tura and Ruhi Su. Drawing on a real construction-corruption scandal that surfaced after the 1960 coup, the film offers a critical look at land speculation and favoritism.
