The Sulky Flower (Küskün Çiçek) (translated)

In Küskün Çiçek, a 1979 Turkish drama directed by and starring Cüneyt Arkın opposite Türkân Şoray, a suspicious death sets the story in motion. Wealthy industrialist and banker İskender Bey dies in a yacht accident while vacationing in Çeşme, and his insurance company, suspecting murder, sends inspector Ahmet to investigate. Ahmet, however, suffers from a serious heart condition and has been told he has only a month to live unless a miracle occurs. While working the case in Çeşme, he meets Zeynep, a doctor beloved by the local community, and her presence gradually transforms his outlook on life. Yet even her love cannot hold back his approaching end. Written by Safa Önal, the film weaves together romance, regret and mortality, as a dying man finds a reason to live just as his time runs out.
