Vurun Kahpeye
Vurun Kahpeye is a 1973 Turkish drama directed by Halit Refiğ. It was made as the third screen adaptation of Halide Edib Adıvar's novel of the same title. Because the book deals with the years of the national struggle, each new film version revisits that period, and Refiğ's version is the third link in that chain.
The story centers on Aliye, an idealistic young teacher posted to a small Anatolian town during the Turkish War of Independence. As she resists the occupying forces and the local circles who cooperate with them, she must also deal with the ignorance and conflicting interests of the town itself. Hale Soygazi plays the teacher Aliye, with Tugay Toksöz and Tanju Gürsu alongside her. The film was shot in Turkish.
