Tuğrul Tülek — Biography

Tuğrul Tülek is an actor who moved from the theatre stage to television and film while keeping his main weight on the stage. Besides the award-winning İki Kişilik Yaz, he reached a wide audience through series such as Camdaki Kız, Ruhun Duymaz and Kızıl Goncalar. In early 2026 he premiered the play Sürüklenmiş, sharing the stage with Rıza Kocaoğlu.

He studied English teaching, graduating in 1999, and began acting that same year at the Bursa Culture, Arts and Tourism Foundation Theatre. In 2002 he entered a second degree in theatre at Anadolu University, finishing in 2006, and trained as an exchange student in Warsaw in the meantime. His part in Kürklü Merkür at Tiyatro DOT brought him a best supporting actor nomination at the Afife Awards and a youth special award that he shared with the cast at the Sadri Alışık Awards. In 2015, for İki Kişilik Yaz, he won Best Actor at the Afife Awards and was named Actor of the Year by the Theatre Critics Association. He has also directed plays.

On screen, a line that began with Hatırla Gönül, Avlu and Levent in Camdaki Kız continued with Civan Koral in Ruhun Duymaz and Seçkin Özarslan in Kızıl Goncalar, followed by Bahar and Kral Kaybederse. In film he appeared in Başka Dilde Aşk (as Kamuran), Çekmeceler (as Sati) and Rüzgara Bırak.

Their work through different eyes

Series Binger A series devotee tracking character arcs, cast chemistry and season pacing.

Tuğrul Tülek keeps his main weight on the stage; series are where the wider public meets him. Camdaki Kız is a psychological drama adapted from a novel, Ruhun Duymaz is the lighter romantic-comedy way in, and Kızıl Goncalar, built on a deep social divide, is the heaviest of the three. For someone who knows Tülek from the theatre and wants to see him on screen, the best stop in my view is Seçkin Özarslan in Kızıl Goncalar, where an actor from the stage meets social drama most fully.

History & Society Lens Asks about the period, the social background and what the work reflects.

A thread through Tuğrul Tülek's films is that he joins projects centred on a social moment or division. Bu Son Olsun is a dark comedy that treats the 12 September coup with humour, and he plays Tayfun in it; Çekmeceler sets the sexuality of a woman marked by childhood traumas against society's idea of masculinity. In my view such films give Tülek a chance to serve the story's social concern rather than put on a show.
