Zeynep Irgat — Biography

Zeynep Irgat is a stage-trained actress best known as Ayşe, the village maid brought over by the migrant workers in the long-running series Bizimkiler. She later reached a newer generation of viewers as Hediye in Kırgın Çiçekler. She is the daughter of the writer Mina Urgan and of the poet and actor Cahit Irgat, and the sister of the actor Mustafa Irgat.

She studied French Language and Literature at Istanbul University's Faculty of Letters. Her artistic life began in 1977 with the courses of Dostlar Tiyatrosu; she then performed with the Istanbul City Theatres and the State Theatre, worked as an assistant director and trained at the Comédie Française in Paris on play stagings. On film she appeared in Alişan, Hakkari'de Bir Mevsim and Bir Küçük Bulut.

On television, Bizimkiler was followed by Baharın Bittiği Yer, Komşu Komşu, Günahım Neydi Allahım, Canım Annem, Yağmur Zamanı, Yemin, Son Tercih and Küçük Hanımefendi. She played in Kırgın Çiçekler on ATV from 2015 to 2018, and in 2019-2020 took part in Kalk Gidelim.
