Adam Bousdoukos — Biography
Adam Bousdoukos was born on 25 January 1974 in the Altona district of Hamburg to a family of Greek origin; after small parts in commercials as a teenager he trained at the Stage School Hamburg. His collaboration with director Fatih Akın, which began in 1995 with the short film Sensin – Du bist es!, became the defining line of his career: his role in Kısa ve Acısız (1998) won him and co-stars Mehmet Kurtuluş and Aleksandar Jovanovic the Leopard award at Locarno, and the film went on to receive the Grimme-Preis in 2001.
Appearing in nearly every Akın film apart from Getürkt, Bousdoukos took both the lead role and a screenwriting credit on Soul Kitchen (2009). He also ran a restaurant in Hamburg's Ottensen district for close to a decade, and has supported the Soul Kids charity since 2009. He has since appeared in more than fifty films and television productions, including recent titles such as Kesik, Smuggling Hendrix, Dimitrios Schulze and Altın Eldiven.
