Dominic Purcell — Biography

Dominic Haakon Myrtvedt Purcell was born on 17 February 1970 in Merseyside, England, to a Norwegian father and an Irish mother, and grew up in Sydney, Australia. In 2000 he won the American green card lottery and relocated to the United States.

He began acting in the 1997 series Raw FM and soon won recognition in the title role of the Fox series John Doe. His film credits include Seamus in Equilibrium (2002) and Lewis Brookbank in Three Way (2004), and that same year he played the vampire Drake in Blade: Trinity.

He is best known for playing Lincoln Burrows in Prison Break, which ran from 2005 to 2009 and returned for new episodes in 2017, sharing the cast with Wentworth Miller, Sarah Wayne Callies, Robert Knepper and Amaury Nolasco. From 2014 he played Mick Rory, also known as Heat Wave, first in The Flash and then in the spin-off Legends of Tomorrow, and has appeared in films such as The Gravedancers and Blood Creek.
