Ezgi Mola — Biography

Mercan Ezgi Mola was born in Istanbul on 29 March 1983 and finished top of her class after four years studying at the Müjdat Gezen Art Center, joining the BKM Mutfak comedy troupe in 2005. Her first screen part came that same year as Berrak in Organize İşler; a year later, playing opposite veteran actress Türkan Şoray in Hayatımın Kadınısın, she earned the Sadri Alışık Award.

She went on to take the part of Latife Hanım in Zülfü Livaneli's Veda, gained wide recognition as Efsun across the Kocan Kadar Konuş films, and appeared in productions such as Celal ile Ceren, Dedemin İnsanları and Maide'nin Altın Günü. A career highlight came with Safiye Derenoğlu, her character on TRT1's Masumlar Apartmanı between 2020 and 2022, for which she won the 2021 Golden Butterfly Award for Best Actress. She later showed her comic side again in Cem Yılmaz's series Erşan Kuneri.

She has additionally worked as a producer over a career spanning both comedy and drama.
