Serap Aksoy — Biography

Serap Aksoy is an actress with a ballet background who has worked in theatre, film and television since the 1980s. In 2025 she received an Honorary Award at the 62nd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, shared with Settar Tanrıöğen. She has also worked as a presenter and is a member of ÇASOD, the contemporary film actors' association.

Her stage life began with dance: she graduated from the ballet department of the Istanbul State Conservatory, studied ballet at the Munich Music Academy and performed as a professional dancer with the State Opera and Ballet. On screen she first appeared in the early 1980s in the series Kartallar Yüksek Uçar, then in Değirmen (1986), Yer Demir Gök Bakır (1987) and the series Yaprak Dökümü. She came to the fore in the early 1990s with lead roles in İki Kadın, Piano Piano Bacaksız and C Blok (1994); her work in İki Kadın won her best supporting actress at the 29th Antalya Film Festival in 1992.

In the 2000s she worked in series such as Aşka Sürgün, Hatırla Sevgili, Karayılan and Kül ve Ateş, and in the films Sonsuz and Kilit. Later came the series Güllerin Savaşı and the film Yağmur: Kıyamet Çiçeği (2014). She was married to former minister and politician Aydın Güven Gürkan until his death.
