The Fight of the Giants (Devlerin Kavgası) (translated)

Classed as drama, adventure and crime, the 1965 black-and-white Turkish film Devlerin Kavgası ("The Fight of the Giants") runs 91 minutes. Directed by Kemal Kan, it was made by Çan Film. Shot during the most prolific years of Yeşilçam, it stands out for setting Cüneyt Arkın against Erol Taş, an actor known for villain roles.

At the center of the story is the taxi driver Murat, played by Cüneyt Arkın. Because of his brother Nuri, who has taken to bad ways, Murat gets pulled into dark dealings, and the film's axis is his struggle to escape that life. Erol Taş plays Nuri, credited as "Count Nuri". Elements such as a gang, a child abduction, a ransom and a telephone point to the crime-story side of the plot. The cast also includes Eşref Vural (Inspector Eşref), Kazım Kartal (a policeman), Selma Erkut (the maid Zehra), Natuk Baytan (an inspector) and Pervin Par.

The screenplay was written by Vecdi Uygun and the producer was Zeki Çan. Fevzi Eryılmaz was the director of photography and Ali Rıza Yılmaz edited. Ziya Pişirici is credited as the source author. The film was dubbed at Milli Film, with Hayri Esen voicing Cüneyt Arkın and Süha Doğan and Nejat Candaner voicing Erol Taş.
