Runaway (Kaçış)

Kaçış opens with war photographer Mehmet joining a small group of foreign journalists on a research trip to a Yazidi village, an action-drama premise that quickly turns dangerous. After crossing the border without permission, the group is captured during a raid by a radical armed organization, and the rest of the story follows their struggle to survive, the tensions among the hostages, and their attempts to break free. Told with an urgent, suspenseful pace, the series also touches on the dangers faced by journalists covering conflict zones and the humanitarian crises around them. Directed by Yağız Alp Akaydın and written by Ali Doğançay, the show was produced by O3 Medya and Same Film for Disney+. It premiered in June 2022 and wrapped up its single eight-episode season that August, and it holds the distinction of being the first Turkish-language series released on Disney+.
