Zuhal Olcay — Biography
Zuhal Olcay (born Zuhal İşanç, 10 August 1957, Üsküdar, Istanbul) is a Turkish stage, film and television actress and singer. Raised in Üsküdar as the only child of a barber father, she completed the advanced program of the Ankara State Conservatory in 1976 and spent about a year in London. On her return she joined the State Theatres, also working at the İzmir State Theatre. She made her screen debut in the 1980 television film Sönmüş Ocak and became widely known through Parmak Damgası.
On stage she won awards for roles including Nina in The Seagull and Irma in The Balcony; her turn as Eva Perón in the 1989 production of Evita launched a singing career that produced albums such as Küçük Bir Öykü Bu. Her performance in Sahte Cennete Veda earned her a German film award. During her marriage to Haluk Bilginer she co-founded the Tiyatro Stüdyosu and later the Oyun Atölyesi theatre. Her many films include Ömer Kavur's Gizli Yüz, while recent work includes Aşk Tesadüfleri Sever 2, Gecenin Ucunda and Merve Kült. In 2025 she received the Istanbul Film Festival's Cinema Honorary Award.
