Nizam Ergüden — Biography

Nizam Ergüden, born on September 17, 1918, in Afyonkarahisar, made his acting debut in "On Korkusuz Adam" and became one of Yeşilçam's most memorable faces for his likable screen presence. Beyond acting he also worked as a set manager and art director, taking on the art direction of "Babalık," which starred Cüneyt Arkın.

He turned in a standout performance as a smuggler in "Banker Bilo," and during the 1970s, when a wave of cheap erotic films swept Yeşilçam, he appeared in many of them, often cast for the charm he brought to the role, whether he wanted the part or not. Alongside classics such as "Üç Kağıtçı," "Beş Parasız Adam," and "Atla Gel Şaban," he shared the screen with Türkan Şoray in "On Kadın" and appeared alongside Hakkı Kıvanç in more than one production.

Later in life he worked as a caretaker and trainer of horses, and he died after being kicked by an Arabian horse in his care, passing away in İzmir on April 21, 1989, and was laid to rest at the city's old Buca Cemetery.
