Ayşin Atav — Biography
Ayşin Atav (born 2 April 1948 in Ankara) is a Turkish theatre, film and television actress and voice artist. She joined the Istanbul City Theatres (İstanbul Şehir Tiyatroları) company early in her career and spent many years on its stage; alongside her theatre work she appeared in cinema and television productions and also worked as a dubbing director.
During the 1970s she acted in Yeşilçam films such as Severek Ayrılalım (1971), Sev Kardeşim (1972), Anasının Gözü (1974), Aslan Bacanak (1977) and Petrol Kralları (1978). She is best remembered as the nurse Sevil (Hemşire Sevil) in the Kemal Sunal comedy Korkusuz Korkak (1979), a role that kept her in the public eye for decades.
She is married to the actor Dinçer Çekmez and is the mother of journalist Tuba Atav. After an eleven-year break, she returned to the stage in 2023 with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres production "Sivrisinekler".
