Love, my brother (Sev Kardeşim) (translated)

Directed by Ertem Eğilmez, the 1972 Turkish film Sev Kardeşim follows Alev, a young woman who works in a factory. Like every other girl on the factory floor, she admires Ferit, the son of the factory's owner, but Ferit never returns the affections of the working-class girls. One day Alev makes a bet with her coworkers: to win it, she must make Ferit fall in love with her. She spins a web of lies about herself and her family and manages to catch his attention. The truth soon comes out, however, and once the two young people's families get involved, matters take an entirely different turn. Written by Sadık Şendil and produced by Arzu Film, the picture stars Tarık Akan and Hülya Koçyiğit, with Münir Özkul, Hulusi Kentmen, Adile Naşit and Halit Akçatepe in supporting roles.
