The Killer (Katil)

Katil ("The Killer") is a Turkish film released in 1953. It was directed by Ömer Lütfi Akad, one of the founding figures of the Yeşilçam era, and stars Ayhan Işık alongside Nubar Terziyan. The story follows Kemal, an electrician wrongfully imprisoned for a murder he didn't commit, who escapes to Istanbul to track down the real culprits and clear his name. The picture belongs to the early period of Turkish cinema and to the first years of Ayhan Işık's screen career.
