Rana's Wedding

Rana's Wedding (also known as Jerusalem, Another Day) is a 2002 Palestinian drama directed by Hany Abu-Assad. It follows a single day in the life of Rana, a young Palestinian woman in East Jerusalem determined to marry the man she loves without delay. Her wish turns into a demanding race through checkpoints, bureaucratic obstacles and family objections, and her personal drama becomes a portrait of the daily struggle of Palestinians trying to lead normal lives under the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Written by Liana Badr and starring Clara Khoury and Khalifa Natour, the film was produced in partnership with the Netherlands with funding from the Palestinian Film Foundation and shot in Jerusalem. It screened in the International Critics' Week at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival and went on to appear at numerous festivals around the world, receiving strong critical notices.
