My dear son (Sevgili Oğlum) (translated)
Sevgili Oğlum is a 1977 Turkish-Iranian drama film directed by and starring Cüneyt Arkın, with a screenplay by Safa Önal and production by Berker İnanoğlu.
The story centers on a family living on a farm in Anatolia, bound to the land and their roots. While the other siblings are content, the eldest, Ahmet, feels restless: drawn to the big city, he refuses to become a farmer and leaves for Istanbul against his family's wishes. His father eventually relents and gives him permission. Soon after, however, the father receives news of his son's death and travels to the city, where he embarks on a quest for revenge through Istanbul's dark streets and its criminal underworld. The film depicts a father's sacrifice for his son. Perihan Savaş, Tuğrul Meteer and Berhan Şimşek also appear in the cast.
