The Watercolor (Suluboya)

The Watercolor (Suluboya) is a 2009 Turkish animated film directed by Cihat Hazardağlı. It opened in cinemas across Turkey on November 13, 2009. The production stands out for its unusual method of animating individually painted digital photographic frames, which lends the picture a distinctive, handcrafted look within Turkish animation. The score was written by the celebrated pianist and composer Fazıl Say. Its voice ensemble brings together prominent Turkish performers Haluk Bilginer, Tuba Ünsal, Tamer Karadağlı, and Cansel Elçin.
