Repair Part (Tamirci Parçası) (translated)

Tamirci Parçası is a 1965 black-and-white Yeşilçam melodrama written by Fuat Özlüer and co-directed by Türker İnanoğlu and Aram Gülyüz. Loosely inspired by Georges Ohnet's French novel The Ironmaster (Le Maître de forges), it follows Oya (Filiz Akın), daughter of a wealthy family sliding toward bankruptcy, and Demir Başar (Ayhan Işık), the young garage mechanic who repairs her car, falls in love with her, and secretly saves her family from ruin; pushed into what she believes is a marriage of convenience with Demir, Oya only gradually recognizes her true feelings. The film pairs two of the era's biggest stars in a story built around pride, jealousy and second chances.
