Fire (Yangın) (translated)

Yangın is a 1977 Turkish film directed by Atıf Yılmaz from a screenplay by Ahmet Üstel. Ayhan Işık plays a stern public prosecutor, Necla Nazır his wife, and Fikret Hakan the childhood friend who resurfaces in his life after years apart.

When that friend becomes tied to a robbery in which two people die, the prosecutor initially trusts his innocence, only to discover through police records a troubled past far removed from the person he remembered. As the story unfolds, the friend's connection to a woman linked to a drug trafficker comes to light, and tension escalates until the prosecutor's wife is kidnapped, pushing the friend to risk everything in an attempt to save her.

Blending adventure with melodrama, the picture was adapted from a foreign television episode for the Turkish screen and runs 82 minutes. It is notable as the final film to feature leading man Ayhan Işık. Production was handled by Akün Film, with cinematography by Erdoğan Engin.
