Farewell Song (Ayrılık Şarkısı) (translated)
Ayrılık Şarkısı ("Farewell Song") is a 1966 Turkish melodrama with musical elements, scripted by Bülent Oran, directed by Ülkü Erakalın and produced by Şahan Haki through Melek Film. The story follows a composer who leaves Cyprus for Istanbul and quickly rises through the music world, only to be worn down by the pain of a doomed love affair that leaves him estranged from his own son; much of the drama turns on his family and the boy's nanny trying to heal that rift.
Cüneyt Arkın stars as Murat Aşkın opposite Ajda Pekkan as Gül and Selda Alkor as the nurse Leyla, with supporting turns from familiar character actors such as Nubar Terziyan and Muzaffer Yenen. As was common Yeşilçam practice at the time, several performers' lines were dubbed by separate voice artists rather than recorded live.
