Paternity (Babalık) (translated)
Babalık is a 1974 Turkish drama-adventure film directed by Melih Gülgen, from a screenplay by Nurettin Erişen and Vural Pakel. Produced by Gülgen Film and running 73 minutes, it tells the story of Murat, an ambulance driver at a hospital whose wages cannot support his family. Persuaded by a lawyer named Turhan to take part in a robbery, Murat is betrayed: Turhan kills the others, flees with the money, and Murat is arrested and sentenced to life in prison.
To stop Murat from testifying, Turhan murders his wife and raises his son Erkan as his own henchman. Years later he sends Erkan into the prison to kill Murat, only for the two to discover they are father and son. Cüneyt Arkın stars as Murat, with Aytaç Arman as Erkan, joined by Turgut Özatay and Deniz Erkanat in the supporting cast.
