Stranger in the City (Turkish: Şehirdeki Yabancı) is a Turkish drama shot in 1962. It was directed by Halit Refiğ from a story by Vedat Türkali. Counted among the notable examples of the social realism movement, it is remembered as the first Turkish film to treat workers' problems and the alienation of the intellectual together.

The story follows Aydın, a young engineer who returns to Zonguldak in the 1960s after studying in England. He fights for the rights of the workers at a coal mine while the gulf between him and the townspeople widens; he becomes a stranger at home and is drawn into conflict. Göksel Arsoy, Ali Şen and Erol Taş lead the cast, and Nilüfer Aydan also appears.

Refiğ, who lived in Zonguldak in 1952-1953, went back there in 1962 to make the film. According to the credits, the background music is drawn from the works of Richard Wagner. The film was shown at the 3rd Moscow International Film Festival in 1963, where Nilüfer Aydan received an Honorary Diploma. On 9 May 2008 it opened the 11th Flying Broom International Women's Film Festival.
